Coach Mark Forbes is a 4th generation teacher from a family of educators. This is his 34th year as either a teacher or administrator. Most of those years he either taught History, worked as the Social Studies Curriculum Coordinator, or as a Data Strategist for the Ferguson-Florissant School District. 

 

Coach Forbes says, "It is a real blessing working in Strain-Japan because the families and staff here really care about doing what is best for kids. It has been my goal to work at a small school since I started teaching, and working part-time at SJS with great kids is fulfilling and a whole lot of  fun." 

 

In his spare time, Coach enjoys staying active with his wife and 4 adult children. This usually means some activity revolving around swimming, biking, running, hiking, kayaking, or traveling to do one of those things outdoors.
